🇰🇭 Country guide
Getting around Cambodia
Cambodia is compact and mostly travelled by bus and minivan. Siem Reap (for Angkor), Phnom Penh and the coast around Sihanoukville form the classic circuit, with border crossings to Thailand and Vietnam.

How people get around
- Buses and vans link Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Battambang, Kampot and Sihanoukville. Sleeper buses run overnight on longer routes.
- International buses cross to Thailand (Poipet–Aranyaprathet) and Vietnam (Bavet–Moc Bai).
- Flights arrive at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI), about an hour from Siem Reap town.
Good to know
Most visitors need a visa; many nationalities can use the official e-visa or get a visa on arrival. US dollars are widely used alongside riel. At land borders, use official counters only.
