How to book bus, train, ferry & flight tickets on 12Go

Updated:

Lyxvo does not sell tickets itself. Every booking button on this site opens 12Go, our ticket partner, where you search, pay and receive your ticket. This guide walks through the whole process and the mistakes that most often cause problems on the day of travel.

Who does what

Lyxvo is a free guide site and an affiliate partner of 12Go. When you click a booking link you land on tiket.lyxvo.com, a white-label version of 12Go. Search, payment, e-tickets, changes, refunds and customer support all happen there, between you, 12Go and the transport operator. Lyxvo earns a small commission from 12Go; the price you pay is the same as booking on 12Go directly.

Step 1: Search your route

Enter where you are leaving from, where you are going and the date. 12Go shows buses, trains, ferries, flights and private transfers side by side when they exist. A few example searches:

Search by city first. Some cities have several stations, piers or bus terminals, and the results tell you exactly which one each trip uses.

Step 2: Compare the options

Look beyond the price. For each result, check:

  • Departure and arrival point — the exact station, pier, terminal or hotel pickup area.
  • Duration — operators publish scheduled times; real journeys on roads and seas are often longer.
  • What is included — hotel pickup, ferry-plus-bus combinations, luggage allowance.
  • Class — seat type, sleeper berth, air-conditioning, cabin class.
  • Ticket type — whether you get a final e-ticket or a voucher to exchange at a counter.

Ratings and reviews shown on 12Go are collected by 12Go, not by Lyxvo.

Step 3: Choose class and seats

On trains, the class matters more than the operator: a lower sleeper berth, a second-class seat and a third-class fan seat are very different journeys. On night buses, check whether the bus has reclining seats, flat sleeper beds or private cabins. Where seat selection is offered, choose it early on busy dates.

Step 4: Enter passenger details exactly as in the passport

Type every name exactly as it appears in the passport you will travel with, including middle names if the form asks for them. Flights, trains in Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam, and international buses check IDs, and a name mismatch can mean being refused boarding. Double-check passport number, nationality and date of birth when they are requested, and use an email address you can open on your phone while travelling.

Step 5: Pay on 12Go

Payment is taken by 12Go. The available methods (cards and various local options) are shown at checkout and depend on your country and the route. The final price, including any fees, is displayed before you pay. Some bookings are confirmed instantly; others need the operator to confirm, which can take a few hours.

Step 6: Receive your e-ticket or voucher

After confirmation, 12Go emails the ticket. Also check your spam folder. The booking details tell you whether you can show the ticket on your phone or must print it, and whether you need to exchange a voucher for a paper ticket at a counter before boarding.

What to bring and when to arrive

  • The ticket (on your phone, plus a screenshot or printout in case there is no signal).
  • The passport or ID used in the booking.
  • Arrive early: as a rule of thumb, about 30 minutes for buses and trains, 30–60 minutes for ferries and fast boats, and the airline's own deadline for flights (often 2 hours or more for international flights). Follow the time on your ticket if it says otherwise.
  • For hotel pickups, be in the lobby at the start of the pickup window — drivers rarely wait long.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

Each operator sets its own rules. Some tickets can be changed or refunded with a fee, some are non-refundable. The conditions are shown before payment and in your booking. To request a change, refund or help, contact 12Go support through the help or contact section on the 12Go site, or use the links in your booking email. Lyxvo cannot see or change your booking.

Common mistakes to avoid

MistakeHow to avoid it
Going to the wrong pier, station or terminalRead the exact departure point in the ticket and look it up on a map the day before.
Confusing time zonesDeparture times are local. Bali and Lombok (UTC+8) are one hour ahead of Jakarta and Java (UTC+7); Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines (UTC+8) are one hour ahead of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos (UTC+7).
Name does not match the passportCopy the name from the passport page, not from a card or nickname.
Booking an overnight trip for the wrong dateA train leaving at 00:30 on the 12th departs the night after the 11th — pick the calendar date of departure.
Tight connection to a flightLeave a buffer, especially after boats and long road trips.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lyxvo sell the tickets?

No. Lyxvo is a guide site and 12Go affiliate. Tickets are booked, paid and issued on 12Go (through tiket.lyxvo.com), and the transport is run by the operators.

Do I pay more by booking through Lyxvo?

No. The price is the same as on 12Go. Lyxvo receives a commission from 12Go, not from you.

Who do I contact if my trip is cancelled or I need a refund?

Contact 12Go support using the help section on the 12Go site or the links in your booking email. Refunds and changes follow the operator's rules for your ticket.

Do I need to print my ticket?

It depends on the operator. Your booking states whether a phone screen is enough, whether a printout is needed, or whether a voucher must be exchanged at a counter.
