Getting around Singapore
Singapore is a compact city with superb public transport. For trips beyond the city, express coaches and trains via Johor Bahru connect to Malaysia, and Changi Airport links to the whole region.
Route guides
Leaving Singapore overland
- Express coaches run to Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Penang and other Malaysian cities, crossing at Woodlands (Causeway) or Tuas (Second Link).
- Shuttle train — the short KTM service from Woodlands to JB Sentral connects with Malaysian trains.
- Ferries from Singapore's terminals reach Indonesia's Batam and Bintan islands.
Good to know
Border queues are longest on Friday evenings, weekends and public holidays. Always carry your original passport. Check whether you need to complete an arrival card online before entering Malaysia.
